Updated: May 20

As a woman #engineer, I am proud to be part of a field that is constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible. The world we live in today has been shaped by the work of scientists, technologists, engineers, and mathematicians, and the demand for skilled individuals in these fields is only growing.

If you have an interest in #STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), I want to encourage you to pursue it. Here are some reasons why:

  • Endless opportunities: STEM fields offer a wide range of opportunities. Whether you want to work in robotics, medicine, renewable energy, or artificial intelligence, there is a path for you to pursue.

  • High demand: As technology advances and industries evolve, the demand for skilled STEM workers continues to grow. This means that your skills will always be in demand, and you will have many opportunities for growth and career advancement.

  • Impact: STEM fields have the potential to make a real impact on the world. From developing life-saving medical technologies to creating sustainable energy solutions, STEM professionals have the power to change the world for the better.

  • Diversity: Despite the common misconception that STEM is a male-dominated field, there is a growing movement to increase diversity in STEM. Women and people from underrepresented groups are being actively encouraged to pursue careers in STEM, which means that there are more opportunities than ever before.

If you are considering a career in STEM, I urge you to take the leap. There are many resources available to help you get started, from online courses to mentoring programs.

Don’t be afraid to reach out to other women in STEM for advice and support. Together, we can continue to push the boundaries of what is possible and make a real impact on the world.
