What does Empowering Women mean to you?

As a woman who has a strong personality, being surrounded by others who are also strong is uplifting and provides positive atmosphere. Since beginning my career in sales and business development, my passion to be a source for solutions, offering paths of betterment and achieving results is nothing short of exhilarating. I am looking forward to being a part of Empowering Women in Industry, meeting new women, learning and growing both professionally and personally.

How did you get started working in your field?

I began working in sales in 2006, and it was completely by accident. There was a job posting for an "Account Manager" for radio sales. The position sounded interesting, I applied, was interviewed, offered the job and I accepted. Who knew selling "air" could be so invigorating! Branding, building top of mind, writing commercials and seeing the positive results for my customers, fulfilling to say the least. Remaining in sales, I wanted to experience business development at a higher level, which brought me to my current position.

What do you love most about your job? / What are you most proud of?

So many aspects I love about my job, meeting new people, building trust, having the ability to offer solutions, providing organizational and cost-effective benefits to my customers. I love how the manufacturing industry is always changing, and although automotive is the largest market we support, I can connect with others. I am most proud of the relationships created, trust earned, and the faith received from others in my abilities.

What advice would you give to someone considering this line of work?

Listen twice as much as you speak. Be sincere in opportunities presented, make sure you are offering the right solution for the customer, not your paycheck.

Anything else you would like to add?

There was a time in my career, when circumstances occurred and my confidence was rocked to the core. It has taken me several years to find my path again, and I am grateful that path has lead to "Empowering Women in Industry"
