What does Empowering Women in Industry mean to you?
Giving women permission to be their authentic selves and to use their stories to reach and lift one another as she steps into her true power. When women own their stories, they are confident and unstoppable. She impacts her community, family, and the world.
How did you get started in your field?
Life happened, and I made the best of it! I was a farm laborer picking grapes when I decided I would no longer be working the fields the next day, and I got a job at Del Monte, which was seasonal. I was seeking stability when a friend suggested I apply with her sister-in-law at Jack in the Box and the rest is history. I worked my way up from kitchen prep to director of operations.
What do you love most about your job? What are you most proud of?
I love creating a culture of leaders who go out and impact others. I'm very fortunate to play a role in transforming people that impacts more than the business. I am proud of the various teams I have led and what they have accomplished over the years.
What advice would you give to someone considering this line of work?
If you are looking for a challenging but rewarding career, there, in my opinion, is no greater place to impact the lives of others. The opportunities are endless to those who are committed to a greater purpose in life.
Anything else you would like to add?
Everything that I have experienced has contributed to the kind of leader people like, know, and trust. We need to forget being perfect and own our stories because that is where our "secret sauce" lies. Together we rise!
