Chicago — Empowering Women in Industry will be hosting an awards gala to close the one-day conference on September 26th, 2019 at the Chicago Athletic Hotel. Check-in for the dinner and gala will start at 6:30 that evening and both men and women are encouraged to attend.
We will be honoring eleven inspiring women at the gala in the following categories; Saleswoman of the Year, Marketer of the Year, Mentor of the Year, Leadership in Stem, Tradeswoman of the Year, Leadership in Reliability & Operations, Leadership in Manufacturing, Engineer of the Year, Industry Advocacy, Innovator of the Year, and Emerging Leader of the Year. We wrapped up nomination submissions on May 30th and are excited to announce the winners at the gala. “Putting a spotlight on the empowering women in industry that are helping lead the way is one of the special opportunities we are fortunate to be able to do at our event” says committee member, Rebekah Mechtensimer. The awards gala was put in place to recognize those doing great things in our industry and to inspire other women on what they can accomplish in male-dominated fields.
At the gala, we will have committee member, Eileen O’Neill, as our Emcee. O’Neill is Executive Director of the Water Environment Federation (WEF). “It’s important that women, especially those of us working in technical fields, support each other and that’s why I’m so energized by the Empowering Women in Industry initiative. The level of accomplishment and diversity of careers of our award nominees is truly impressive. What a huge honor to be asked to play a role in recognizing these remarkable women and I look forward to meeting them in person” states O’Neill about the gala. After dinner and the awards, our entertainment for the night will be Ralph Anthony – Acoustic DJ. With over 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry, he will be closing out the conference on a high note.
